This page explains what information PackNest uses to generate travel lists, how cloud sync works, and which data is never collected by the app.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Destination input. The destination text you enter is sent to our AI service to generate a packing list.
  • Packing list content. Items, categories, and notes you create are stored locally on your device and may be synced to the cloud if you sign in.
  • Account information. If you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique user identifier and may receive your email address if Apple shares it with you.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Crash and error logs. Used to diagnose and fix technical issues.
  • Purchase status. Purchase verification is handled through Apple StoreKit. We do not store your payment card details.

  • Precise location data
  • Contacts, photos, or camera content
  • Browsing history
  • Data from other apps

2. How We Use Information

Data Purpose
Destination text Sent to the AI service to generate a destination-specific packing list.
Packing list content Displayed in the app and optionally synced for backup and cross-device recovery.
Apple user identifier Used to link your cloud account to your synced data.
Purchase status Used to unlock credits or lifetime access.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for advertising purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

  • Alibaba Cloud - Tongyi Qianwen. Used to generate AI packing lists from destination input. Privacy Policy
  • Supabase. Used for optional cloud sync when you sign in with Apple. Privacy Policy
  • GeoNames. Used for destination autocomplete by sending the text you type. Terms
  • Apple. Used for Sign in with Apple and in-app purchases. Privacy Policy

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Local data is stored on your device using Apple frameworks and protected by device-level security.
  • Cloud data is stored in Supabase when sync is enabled and protected with row-level access controls.
  • We retain cloud data while your account remains active unless you request deletion.

5. Children's Privacy

PackNest is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

6. Data Retention

  • Local data remains on your device until you delete the app.
  • Cloud data remains available while your account is active so you can restore lists after reinstalling or switching devices.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to your data, deletion of your cloud account data, or choose not to use cloud sync at all. The app can still be used locally without signing in.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, the date at the top of this page will be updated to reflect the latest version.
